The magic of tropical wool
When temperatures rise, it might seem natural to reach for linen. However, its sometimes rough texture and tendency to wrinkle don’t always make it the best choice for a formal jacket.
That’s precisely where tropical wool (or "cool wool") comes in.
On one hand, wool fibers make the fabric elegant, thermoregulating, and odor-resistant, even in the heat. On the other, the fabric's slightly open and airy plain weave, characteristic of tropical wool, allows air to circulate freely — making it highly breathable.
And the cherry on top? The yarns are twisted before weaving (a process known as “high-twist”), which significantly reduces wrinkling and helps the garment maintain its shape — even after a long day or a trip packed in a suitcase.
This is the secret to tropical wool: it lets you dress elegantly without overheating during warmer days.
To go beyond the typical plain tropical wool, we selected a fabric with a subtle mottled texture, created by weaving a green weft yarn with a light grey warp yarn. This gives the fabric depth and rich tonal variation.
We sourced this unique fabric from the renowned Italian mill Vitale Barberis Canonico — a family-run company founded in 1663 in Biella, and one of the oldest textile manufacturers in the world, celebrated for its premium suiting fabrics.
